Our client for this project was the contractor Brookdale Gas Ltd who carried out the main installation of this heating scheme serving the school buildings.
The project was for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a single twin wall insulated stainless steel chimney system serving two new Hoval UltraGas 350 boiler units.
A common horizontal header arrangement was proposed to link the outlets of the two appliances and traverse the congested plantroom at high level. After turning vertical the chimney system would rise through the building some 7.5m to terminate above roof level with a open cone top. Connections to the respective appliances were made using our 300mm inside diameter single wall Condensor (laser welded single wall stainless steel 316L) flue system with the header and vertical riser made using our 350mm inside diameter twin-wall Therminox TI system comprising a stainless steel 316L inner - stainless steel outer - 32mm mineral wool (130kg/m3) insulated annulus. Our team spent just two days on site to complete the chimney installation ready for handover.
Condensor chimney systems and flue lining systems are CE marked, manufactured and designed as suitable for use with any type of gas, oil and wood-burning atmospheric appliances, but are perfect for all condensing appliances with a maximum operating temperature of 200°C in compliance with BS EN 1856-1, 1856-2 and BS EN 15287. Therminox TI flues are CE marked, manufactured and designed as suitable for use with condensing boilers and CHP appliances with a maximum operating temperature of 200°C in compliance with BS EN 1856-1 and BS EN 15287.
